The human studies that do exist are small. Most involve fewer than 100 participants. Many use single-dose designs (giving CBD once and measuring the immediate effect) rather than studying what happens when someone takes CBD daily for weeks or months. Few have enrolled people with formally diagnosed anxiety disorders. Most have short follow-up periods.

Look at the label of a typical commercial CBD product. A common tincture might contain 30 milligrams per serving. A gummy might contain 10 to 25 milligrams. That is a fraction of the doses that produced results in clinical research.
